The US Department of Energy, Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management (DOE FECM) is enabling research, development, demonstration, and deployment (RDD&D) of technologies for carbon management in a just and sustainable way, with the goal of achieving net-zero GHG emissions by mid-century. In support of this, DOE FECM is making key investments in RDD&D, large-scale transport and storage facilities, and regional hubs to support the rapid deployment of carbon storage. DOE FECM’s integrated approach to carbon management includes point source carbon capture, multi-modal carbon transport, secure geologic storage, hydrogen with carbon management, CO2 removal, and carbon conversion.
