Health Information
Currently, there are no vaccinations required to enter Colombia. However, the local authorities will require you to be vaccinated against yellow fever if you are going to visit tourist sites such as the Sierra Nevada in Santa Marta National Park, Tayrona Park and the various reserves in the Amazon. Remember that this vaccine must be applied at least 10 days before traveling to these destinations.
Find out about all the places where it is necessary to have the yellow fever vaccine at the following link: https://www.minsalud.gov.co/salud/publica/PET/Paginas/Fiebre-amarilla.aspx
Other recommended, but not mandatory, vaccines are those that act against hepatitis A and typhoid fevers. The same goes for anti-malaria pills, which are only useful if you are going to visit jungle areas, where we also advise you to use repellent.
It's also very important that you wear sunscreen and stay hydrated. Keep in mind that in some areas it is best to buy bottled mineral water. You will have no problem buying it in local shops.
